You may be aware by now that the Neptune Bar Hire Co does like to give our customers superb value for money. No hefty deposits, no massive booking fees, no minimum bar spend, free tea and coffee for wedding bars, free kids’ bars … the list goes on. You will probably also be aware already that there are several options available to you when you’re thinking about how people will pay for drinks at your wedding.
When you’re getting married, the last thing you should be worrying about is how much you’re paying for your drinks package - weddings are an expensive business and you want your guests to have a good time with minimum fuss. That’s why we offer several options for payment, including:
- A standard pay bar (just like a pub – a guest orders a drink and pays for it themselves)
- A limited bar (working to a pre-set limit and then reverting to a pay bar when that limit is reached), or
- A free bar (we only ever serve single-shot drinks or regular glasses of wine to your guests, to avoid a nasty surprise bill for you at the end of the night!)
There is also a fourth option - and we think that this is the most exciting choice - the token bar. Some people baulk at the idea of tokens, however we think that this is a pretty versatile way to allow people to get their drinks.
How does it work?
We’re glad you asked! It works like this; you agree in advance how many tokens you wish to buy, at a cost of £3.50 each. Already you are achieving a saving of 50p per drink, as the normal cost of a drinks package is £4.00 per drink. We should point out that this is on ALL types of drinks, even premium brands such as Chase Gin. Your guests will swap one token at the bar for one drink, regardless of their choice of tipple. Simple!
The beauty of using tokens is that you are in control; if you want to hand them out as wedding favours, or even just use them for the toast – one token for a glass of Prosecco – you get to decide who has what in terms of the number of tokens. Some couples will give more tokens to family members and close friends, whilst some will hand them out like sweets to all guests; it all depends on the budget that you have available. There are no tricks or surprises to trip you up, the only thing that you need to be aware of is that tokens are non-refundable, i.e., we do not buy them back after the event.
